Bring me my ugg boots and comfy dressing gown, Autumn is here! With daylight savings ending over the weekend and the weather cooling down, all I want to do is snuggle in my warm things and eat warm comfort food! We all know that over autumn and winter we let our eating habits slip a little. I don’t know about you, but I definitely prefer a steaming hot chocolate with marshmallows to a stick of celery! However, I am determined this year to keep my fit and healthy body, to not use the excuse that it’s raining, it’s cold, I’m too tired... No excuses this year! I’ll be sticking to yoga and taking my dogs for walks, rain, hail or shine.

So with that in mind, I went and did some research on warm, delicious, healthy food, and I came across omelettes. Normally I would associate omelettes with the “naughty foods”, but after some reading I have found that they really nutritious if you stay away from the nasty add-ins - and they only take a few minutes to cook. They are high in protein, low in fat, and will really give you that kick start to your day.

Lots of nutritionists advocate the egg-white only omelette, using three egg whites, but for that additional protein you can go with two whole eggs. Keep your cheese levels low and add veggies like green onions, rocket, avocado, baby spinach, fresh coriander and sundried tomatoes.

Here are some recipes that I found online that you can follow, or just use for inspiration:

I’m really looking forward to taking my new autumn outfits for a test run – I’ve picked myself up a pair of the spunky new Jimmy Pants in the Kabuki Bloom print. I love the subtle oriental flavour of the floral and find it really ‘girly’ and beautiful but with that bit of spunk that I’ve been looking for. I’ll team it up with a knit and probably a pair of the matching Tropicana Espadrilles – maybe a little too much floral for some, but I’m a big believer in being true to your own style – and floral on floral, well that’s just me!
